Georgeanne Contoyannoupoulous
"Feng Shui and Your Health"
Georgeanne first learned about and was fascinated by Feng Shui while getting her degree in Art History/Asian Studies. She was fascinated because she discovered that what she had sensed and experienced since childhood was not something irrational but was in fact the subject matter of a centuries old science and art. This fascination with personal and environmental energies turned into a passion. In 1980 Georgeanne began serious study of healing and earth work. 1985 saw the beginning of her studies in Feng Shui. Since then, she has been fortunate to have completed studies with and to have been certified to teaching level in many areas of Feng Shui and energy work by well known masters of both eastern and western traditions.

"Feng Shui and Your Health" |
Description:
Good physical health is one of the crucial objectives of authentic Feng Shui practice. As such, the talk will be a fun, instructive study on the use and application of Feng Shui for health.
As Feng Shui is the art of tapping into the Qi, the workshop will begin with a background overview on energy. Participants will learn exactly what it is, and how it affects us. This will naturally segue smoothly into an explanation of how anything affecting our personal energy field is actually transferred by the meridians to our actual physical body. The importance of channeling and tapping into the right forms of energy, then, becomes clear.
The Five Element Cycle is also discussed, with a thorough elucidation on how each of the individual elements corresponds directly with a body part or organ. Furthermore, the talk will also focus on the individual Guas and the individual's physical weaknesses in relation to that. In essence, it will prepare the person to watch out for potential complications or challenges.
As closing, the talk will focus a little on interior Feng Shui and its relevance to physical health. There will be an emphasis on bedroom arrangements, and some on kitchen arrangements, and an explanation about its significance.

"This Thing Called Feng Shui: No Jade / Crystal / Incense Required" |
Description:
What is Feng Shui? We hear this term being applied to so many things - from the study of environmental forms, to the placement of decorative items in and around the home and the wearing of "spiritual" jewelry! We also find the term 'Feng Shui' often confused with Astrology. In addition, let's not labour under the misconception that just because we can empower our minds with physical and mental affirmations, we are 'practicing Feng Shui!'
However, these different concepts DO serve their own function in aiding us to improve our lives. Correctly identifying and understanding the differences between Astrology, Feng Shui and Self-Improvement - thus, understanding the concepts of Heaven, Earth and Man - will do wonders in our application of these concepts.
This talk aims to get to the bottom of the question: "What is Feng Shui?" In doing so it also hopes to clear the cobwebs of superstition and myth that surround the topic. It will clarify the fundamental differences between Feng Shui, Astrology, and Self-Improvement (or man's conscious efforts toward personal betterment), thereby showing how an effective use of all these aspects (while clearly understanding the differences) can serve to enhance a person's life.
